# Start a session

`POST https://api.parklio.com/v2/sessions`

Starts a parking session by hand, for example for a vehicle a camera missed. The session is created in the zone of the camera you name. Send **both** `license_plate` and `lpr_camera_id`.

No whitelist, tariff or capacity check is made, and the zone's `occupied_count` doesn't change. `entry.type` is `account` for an API token, `attendant` for a user token. See the [Sessions and tariffs](/guides/sessions-and-tariffs) guide.

### 401 — Account user is not logged in and they should log in again.
